3 Reasons Why You Should Celebrate Christmas in Sunshine Coast
You haven't picked your 2016 Christmas destination yet? It really is difficult to choose since every place offers something unique and exciting. But if you want breathtaking beaches and magnificent wildlife, there is no doubt that Sunshine Coast is your destination. In fact, here are three more reasons why you should make Sunshine Coast your destination this Christmas season.
1. The Ginger Factory is spreading some cheer
One of Sunshine Coast's popular attraction is spreading some cheer starting December 6. The Ginger Factory features several fantastic activities and attractions.
Jolly old Saint Nicholas is reading his favourite stories at the Garden Gazebo every morning at 9:30. If you want to take a family picture with him, you may do so after his short break. Then take the kids to Ice Creamery where you can purchase and personalise your own gingerbread cookies.
In addition, don't miss the chance to join fascinating tours and ride the factory's iconic 115 year old train. Moreton will take you on a wonderful journey around The Ginger Factory.
2. SEA LIFE Mooloolaba has a new attraction
On December 8, SEA LIFE Mooloolaba is opening a new attraction. The ‘Jurassic Seas’ is an interactive experience where you'll dive into pre-historic past and learn all about the ancient ocean creatures.
You will also encounter other displays such as living fossils which can be seen at the Jurassic-themed tanks. If you want to see some adorable creatures of the deep like a baby epaulette shark, infant lionfish or leopard shark eggs, then head to the nursery at Flipper Rock.
For the ultimate pre-historic experience, don't miss the opportunity to see the most terrifying ocean dinosaurs up close. Face the angry Liopleurodon and feed the Plesiosaurus at the interactive ‘Jurassic Seas’ experience.
3. The annual Christmas Boat Parade is ready to sail
Help raise awareness and funds as the annual Christmas Boat Parade lights up for the STEPS Charity on December 17th. The STEPS Charity is The Mooloolaba Yacht Club's beneficiary for the 2016 Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade. The charity works on creating brighter futures for individuals with a disability.
Support their cause and attend the annual Christmas Boat Parade. The program will start at 6:30pm at The Mooloolaba Wharf. Be there early and see which boat is best dressed for the occasion. The boats will be heading to different areas but will be going back to The Mooloolaba Wharf for the awarding.
