Outdoor Sporting Events this March on the Sunshine Coast
Queensland Youth Surf Life Saving Championships
The biggest and most prestigious junior surfing event for U11-U15 age categories, the Queensland Youth Surf Life Saving Championships will gather the best in the region to go head-to-head. This event will feature both 1 km and 2 km beach runs, beach flags and sprint, surf race, and several more surfing events; and will also host the qualifying teams from Branch Championships for the Beach Relay, Surf Teams, Board Relay, and Cameron Relay. Watch the event unfold on March 2 to March 4 at the Alexandra Headland.
Australian Dragon Boat National Championships
March 2018 will see Australia’s premier dragon boating event take place on the Sunshine Coast, featuring top paddlers from all states going against one another for the honour of National Champion. Day 1 will see the best paddlers each state has to offer, days 2 and 3 will feature the U24 and junior age categories compete for gold, and days 4 and 5 will see Australia’s most experienced senior paddlers show off it’s done. Spectate at this exciting event from March 3 to March 8 at Lake Kawana, Sunshine Coast.
Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival
The annual Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival has been one of the biggest events on the Australian triathlon calendar for 26 years, featuring the most enthusiastic triathletes competing in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. The exciting program includes the Mooloolaba Triathlon and Mooloolaba Teams Triathlon, Mooloolaba Twilight 5 km Run, Mooloolaba Ocean Swim, Mooloolaba Superkidz Triathlon, and the Mooloolaba Special Triathlon. Be part of the buzzing and exciting atmosphere this March 11 at the Esplanade, Mooloolaba!
Queensland Surf Life Saving Championships
One of the pinnacle events hosted by Surf Life Saving Queensland, the Queensland Surf Life Saving Championships sees over 2,000 competitors from across Queensland to battle the sea, sand, and each other for state glory! The Queensland Surf Life Saving Championships
will take place from March 16 to March 18 at Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast.
Queensland Oztag Senior State Cup
The best players and teams from around the state will compete this March at the Queensland Oztag Senior State Cup, one of the biggest representative events of OzTag rugby in Queensland, taking place annually. Catch all the action at the Sunshine Coast Stadium from March 16 to March 18.
