Raise Awareness with the Walk for Women's Cancers This September
Show your support for women affected by cancer with the Walk for Women’s Cancers this September. The Walk for Women’s Cancers was established in 2004 by Cancer Council Queensland, and aims to unite all women affected by cancer, raise awareness for cancer in women, and celebrate their second chance at life. Each year, the Walk for Women’s Cancers attracts around 700 participants who come to raise awareness, fundraise, and show their support.
1 in 6 women will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85, and over 800 will die each year from a women’s cancer. The Walk for Women’s Cancers is the ideal opportunity to raise awareness for such an important cause, where if recognised early it can be treated and prevented.
Taking place annually on the Sunshine Coast, the Walk for Women’s Cancers provides the perfect backdrop for walking and celebration, and offers a 3-kilometre and 8-kilometre walk that begins at the Alexandra Headland near Maroochydore and Mooloolaba. The Walk for Women’s Cancers is open to all the public, and urges people to participate and show their support to raise awareness and give hope.
Walk towards a better future for women with the Walk for Women’s Cancers, which will take place at the Alexandra Headland on the Sunshine Coast on September 8.
The Walk for Women’s Cancers will be taking place just moments away from our Sunshine Coast family accommodation this September. We offer affordable studio and apartment accommodation for individual travellers, couples, and families in a central location on the Sunshine Coast, where you can relax and delight in everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer.
